Roma To Face Al Ahli Without Totti

This was revealed by the Italian club side, as they prepare to engage Egyptian club champions Al Ahli in a friendly encounter.

The Italian international midfielder is currently recuperating from a nagging knee injury, on which he had an operation in April.
The player is expected to be out of action for the next two months.

He has recently hinted he may make a return to the national side as they gear up for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, looking to retain their crown. Totti retired from international football after the 2006 World Cup triumph in Germany.

Al Ahli and AS Roma would both square up at the Cairo International stadium on Wednesday night.

Andreolli On Verge Of Rimini Move

Andreolli will most likely be sent to gain experience at Rimini in Serie B before returning back to the Giallorossi's squad and be ready to play in the Italian top flight.

This was confirmed by Bastianelli who believes that the deal will most likely go through.

"It's true, Rimini is following the lad and would like to sign him," declared the player's agent to Romanews.eu.

"During the week we shall close the deal. Marco goes gladly to Serie B and in a club like Rimini. There he will be able to grow and prove his worth before returning quickly to the Italian top flight.

"However, let's wait some days to see if some Serie A squad will show any concrete interest in the player."

Spalletti Hails Versatile Vucinic

The Montenegrin international caused all sorts of havoc in Roma's weekend friendly against Monaco, despite the fact neither he nor fellow forward Vincenzo Montella could get on the score-sheet.

Widely regarded as a remarkable talent just waiting to explode, Vucinic has yet to nail down a defined role at Stadio Olimpico, often playing on the left wing to accommodate Francesco Totti up front.

The 24-year-old impressed in his skipper's absence last term, however, scoring some crucial - and spectacular - goals as the Giallorossi narrowly missed out on the Scudetto.

Spalletti hopes to see Vucinic develop even further this season, although he hinted that the former Lecce man is likely to remain as a sort of utility forward for the time being.

"Vucinic can play in two roles," the Italian tactican said after the Monaco game. "He can be powerful as a winger as he can make runs and cut into the centre.

"As a forward he looks for goal and makes space for his team-mates and he created the missed chances for Vincenzo Montella."
