The Frenchman arrived from Monaco on Thursday night after finally putting pen to paper with the Italian side and he is looking forward to his new Serie A adventure.

Menez has won huge comparisons to some of the greatest football heroes but he is staying modest.

“Zidane is Zidane and Cassano is Cassano, I am Menez and I don’t want any comparisons,” said the striker at his unveiling on Friday.

“Those two have their own ways of playing and I came to Roma to demonstrate what I am capable of doing.

“I don’t like being defined and I don’t have a particular role, that is down to the coach and he has to see how to use me.

“I have been chosen by Roma for my technical qualities and for my attacking play.

“I am hoping I can do well here and score lots of goals in the Roman Derby.”

The 21-year-old arrived from the Ligue 1 side for €14m and he is a great addition to the Giallorossi’s attacking line up. He is being tipped as one of the best striker’s in Europe and his future looks bright in Italy.
