Crespo: I'm Not Leaving Inter

The veteran hitman has been linked to Sampdoria, Roma and Independiente in recent weeks, but he insists that he is only interested in wearing Inter's colours despite that the battle for starting spots for Nerazzurri strikers looks set to be as intense as ever.

"It has never crossed my mind to leave Inter," Crespo told local reporters. "Mourinho is happy with me and with regards to a possible transfer that is a closed chapter.

"I always try to work hard in order to play more minutes.

"I know that I am in a great team with great strikers and there will be space for everyone."

The Sun newspaper recently revealed that Crespo cost Chelsea £1 million a game during his time there.

During his two seasons at Chelsea in 2003/04 and 2005/06, Crespo made just 33 league starts, and scored 25 goals in all competitions. Thus, taking into account his £25m five-year contract, he actually cost Chelsea £1m per game, or £1.3m per goal.

Crespo, who joined The Blues from Inter Milan in 2003 for a fee in the region of £17 million, was released by the West London-outfit at the beginning of the month following the expiration of his five year contract.
