Monaco's Kranjcar Bid Rejected

Kranjcar’s eye-catching displays helped Portsmouth to FA Cup glory as well as eighth place in the Premiership, a run of form that he has continued in Austria and Switzerland as Croatia showed plenty of promise during Euro 2008.

As a result, the 23-year-old has acquired no small amount of admirers, with Monaco evidently currently the most determined of a group that also includes Arsenal and Roma

"Monaco have come in for Niko and offered around £12million for him. We wouldn't sell him and he didn't want to go anyway so that was the end of that one," said Redknapp to The News.

"No disrespect, but why would he want to go there anyway? They get 6,000 people watching them.

"You go there on a weekend and it's a unique experience, people aren't interested in the football. They all go out on the Saturday night and get dressed up for dinner, not to watch football."

Redknapp also took the opportunity to rubbish reports that Juventus are in for Sulley Muntari, who he also declared to be not for sale.
